In Pursuit of Excellence

One of the most overlooked aspects to attracting your ideal clients is to provide outstanding customer service. There is a strong connection between serving your existing customers and receiving referrals. People will refer you only if they believe you will do an excellent job of serving their friends, associates or clients. If there is any doubt, they will not refer you.

Excellence is not easy. Providing excellent customer service means you need to have systems and processes in place to ensure that you deliver a superior customer experience on a consistent basis. In a prior life, I designed and implemented a customer service training program for a financial institution. I trained upwards of 100 customer service representatives. You have to put your customers first if you want them to be satisfied enough to refer you.

In my book Extreme Excellence, I share information about how to build excellence into your small business. Every day, look for a way to practice excellence and strive to improve your business!

Get Rich in your Niche!

Niche MarketingHave you selected a niche to market your services? Niche marketing is one of the most effective ways to build a successful business. Why? Because it’s all about focus. For too many years, I tried to be everything to everybody. And I learned the hard way, it just doesn’t work. It helps to focus your efforts. And that starts with identifying your ideal clients.

You see, whenever you can focus your efforts on a specific group of people, you will be better able to serve their needs. It just takes too much work if you spread yourself too thin. If you focus like a laser beam, you will have a significant impact.

Of course, it makes a big difference whether you select a profitable niche. It also matters whether you enjoy serving that niche. Do what you love and the money will follow. That’s a message about focusing your efforts on something you enjoy.

Find the Intersection of Skills, Passion and Demand

I once heard it said this way: you need to find the intersection of skills, passion and demand. In other words, you need to know what you’re doing, be excited about doing it and you need to be able to find people to pay for that product or service. If any of the three are missing, then you’re probably not going to succeed.

To get rich in a niche means carving out a space where there are few competitors and providing the best possible service to people who are willing to pay for it. And that’s a very cool thing indeed!

Please post a comment here and tell me about your niche.

A Virtual Assistant Can Help You Attract Clients

Virtual AssistantDo you want more clients? If so, then a Virtual Assistant may be exactly what you need. Virtual Assistants are virtual workers. They usually work from home and support multiple clients. It’s a cost-effective alternative to having an employee. And since many service professionals run their business from home, you don’t want employees anyway, right?

So, how can a Virtual Assistant (VA) help you attract your ideal clients? Many VA’s have specialized knowledge in marketing and sales that will help you identify prospects, craft your marketing message and reach your intended audience. Many VA’s have expert knowledge in copywriting. And many are experts in Follow Up. Remember, The Fortune is in the Follow Up!

The Fortune is in the Follow Up!

Virtual Assistants are expert in creating systems to help support your business. They get the job done. If things tend to fall through the cracks, hire a Virtual Assistant and watch things get done!

Who is your Ideal Client?

who-is-your-ideal-clientDo you run a home-based service business? Whether you’re a coach, consultant, professional organizer, virtual assistant or other service professional, you rely on clients. If you want to get paid, you need to attract clients. If you don’t, you’ll starve.

You Need to Attract
Your Ideal Clients
In order to attract new clients, you need to identify your ideal clients. Consider things like gender, age, industry and interests when considering who you want to work with. Yes, you need to think about whether your ideal client will be able to pay you. But, you also need to consider who do you like to work with. Who do you like to help? What is it about them that makes you excited to serve them.

Write it down. Create a profile of your ideal client and then test your assumptions. Take this one step and you’ll start on the road to attracting your ideal client.
